The most frequently used universal adapter for cars is the type UA 2 with hand wheel or UA 12 with levers.
Securing the adapter in the radiator or expansion tank is effected by depressing the handle into a horizontal position or by turning the hand wheel.
All the universal adapters listed also permit the holding pressure to be reinforced by way of the threaded rod.
